DescriptionDr. Pedro Lopes, the head of the Human Computer Integration lab at the University of Chicago, is developing a wearable device that uses electrical stimulation to help a user’s muscles perform various tasks. Lopes’ vision is a wearable Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) device that would be worn like a sleeve and be able to send electrical impulses to make a user’s muscles move involuntarily to perform a physical task.
