The new XR10 headset by construction solutions provider Trimble, which incorporates Microsoft's recently announced Hololens2 augmented reality glasses, is a worthy attempt to deliver badly needed productivity improvements. Sadly, the effort fails to understand the future of work. Instead of empowering operators, the mixed reality display will simply stifle creativity and perpetuate top-down management styles.
