Description
This AR\VR project employs mobile phones to create an immersive visitor experience at the Fort York site in downtown Toronto. Using the app, visitors can see 3D graphics of the old site and re-imagine the site and its history. The app also includes digital re-enactments of actual historical scenes, aiming to engage and inform visitors about major historical events that took place at Fort York.
This app demonstrates the AR category of
Revival of Past. In this category, virtual contents is used to reactivate or enliven past events. This is not a documentation of events, but rather a digital reconstruction of the past, intended to make us ponder how the present is different from the past.
