1949Description
These ocular prosthetics demonstrate well the importance of form and function in wearable tech design. Custom-moulded to fit the exact contours of the wearer’s eye socket, these prosthetics were hand-detailed to visually replicate the wearer’s original (biological) eyes. They also performed a number of significant physiological functions, including preventing the collapse of the remaining soft tissue in the eye socket, preventing eyelids and lashes from turning in, and facilitating the proper circulation of tears to clean and lubricate the socket and lids.
