Blockchain has been talked about as the saviour of all, the solution to all society's problems, and has been hyped to the extent of extinction. Blockchain is solely a protocol to implement a network of digital assets without requiring any central party to hold and own the data. Any ledger-based system that we have today could be transformed into a blockchain system in which there are no parties involved in holding the data, making it a global trustless database. This could lead to solve political limitation of having a global system, such as global health record, credit score, digital identity, etc.
