The co-founder of North, a tech company in Waterloo, Ontario, says there were many design challenges in developing its Focals wearable smart glasses. Aaron Grant says the aim is to keep wearers connected while keeping the frames “stylish."

Instead of bombarding the user with information and keeping them distracted, the simple interface allows users to be more "present in the real world".
